@process yep. Oh look, soup kitchens, but there's a catch.... sounds very familiar.

@process Yep. Take it and convert or we leave you to die! Pure, unadulterated evil, under the guise of Christianity!

@process Exactly, while the Irish were starving, other foods were continually being shipped from Irish farms to England! Madness! Selfishness. Greed. Pure evil! It took a century for Ireland to begin to recover. Much like the "Clearances", they simply wanted to wipe out the people who were not subordinate to their desires and will.

@HopeSeeker You know what makes me so angry is that it all could have been avoided. They just didn't see those people as "worth it". 😑

@HopeSeeker Oh God, those poor people. 😒 😒

@process Nut-job. Definitely not the full shilling, that one!

@FrankCannon Haha, at this particular point in human history, a bit of a trip through a black hole might be a bit of light relief!

@th3j35t3r Unfortunately it's not available to watch in the UK, but I've seen clips on other sites. It really is a must watch!

@process Whut is she talking aboot? Our sky looks like that very frequently! Dipstick...

Just finished watching "The Hunger", the story of the Irish famine (1845 - 1852) on PBS America. Yet another story of how the British government witheld aid because the people who needed it was not an acceptable "class". Seems to be a recurring theme. It's good to be reminded.

Oh deep joy. There's me thinking I might catch up with the laundry today and get some weeding done!

@YouInMyEye @process If mine got like that, I'd be emptying the whole thing and starting over! If it's important, they'll resend! πŸ˜‚

@process Yeah, I don't agree with Starmer on some things, and I didn't vote Labour - would have been pointless up here in the North, but there does seem to be a "calm" in the country right now that we haven't felt for a very long time. I hope that continues.

@process The party has definitely changed from what I remember back in the 70s. They're not what they used to be, but then, on a positive note, they're not Tories either! That's a win in my book! Most of the North of Scotland is now LibDem. We'll see how that turns out too.

@process They have a lot to manage/ undo and they have a lot to prove now. The people are watching this time.

@dauphin87 They were all the rage in the late 70s / early 80s. My sister in law had one on her wall, given as a wedding gift.
