"the intellectual "grasp" of a psychological fact produces no more than a concept of it,
and that a concept is no more than a name, a flatus vocis.
These intellectual counters can be bandied about easily enough.
They pass lightly from hand to hand, for they have no weight or substance.
They sound full but are hollow; and though purporting to designate a heavy task and
obligation, they commit us to nothing."
Carl Jung, Aion.
a mind clarifying practice for all religions or none. all minds benefit.
"So fundamenal is the golden flower awakening that it brings out inner dimensions in all religions.
From the point of view of that central experience i makes no more difference whether one calls the golden flower awakening a relationship to God or to the Way, or whether one calls it the holy spirit or the Buddha nature or the real self.
The Tao Te Ching says, "Names can be designated, but they are not fixed terms."

"The ego contains our capacity to master large amounts of material
It is a powerful associative magnet and an organizational agent.
A strong ego is one that can obtain and move around in a deliberate way large amounts of conscious content.
A weak ego cannot do very much of this kind of work and more easily succumbs to impulses and emotional reactions.
A weak ego is easily distracted, and as a result consciousness lacks focus and consistent motivation."
morning metaphors.
the ego as a strange attractor.
The ego is not fundamentally constituted and defined by the acquired contents of consciousness.
It is like a mirror or magnet that holds contents in a focal point of awareness.
"in the field of dynamical systems, an attractor is a set of states toward which a system tends to evolve, for a wide variety of starting conditions of the system.
System values that get close enough to the attractor values remain close even if slightly disturbed."
“a scarab.
You dear little animal, are you still toiling away in order to live your beautiful myth?
How seriously and undiscouraged it works! If only you had a notion that you are performing an old myth, you would probably renounce your fantasies as we men have also given up playing at mythology.
The unreality nauseates one."

okay folks, good night. 🙏🏻🖖✌🏽
after all the Jung today, i opened a recent episode of Astrid (PBS) called The Book, about the auction of an original manuscript of the Corpus Hermeticum, which involves the Rosicrucians, secret codes, etc.
do you believe this to be a mere "coincidence"?
what if i mention that (acc. to this episode) the story in the CH, its secret, concerns that of the power of FICTION to transform the world, reality itself?
SANTA HILDEGARDA DE BINGEN
LIBER DIVINORUM OPERUM
LIBRO DE LAS OBRAS DIVINAS
Hildegard von Bingen's drawings reveal the psychological process of her visions. her alchemical work in images.
her textual descriptions of her visions and her interpretations of them belie what she reveals, perhaps unconsciously, in her paintings.
Jung's conclusions on alchemy:
"We are dealing with life-processes which, on account of their numinous character,
have from time immemorial provided the strongest incentive to the formation of symbols.
These processes are steeped in mystery; they pose riddles with which the human mind will long wrestle for a solution, and perhaps in vain. For, in the last analysis,
it is exceedingly doubtful whether human reason is a suitable instrument for this purpose.
They are the primordial images."
the dangers of ego inflation, the likes of which are now dominating the political landscape.
"An inflated consciousness is always egocentric and conscious of nothing but its own presence.
incapable of learning from the past, incapable of understanding contemporary events, and incapable of drawing right conclusions about the future. It is hypnotized by itself and therefore cannot be argued with.
It inevitably dooms itself to calamities that must strike it dead."

re: your recent post about dissociation.
just came across something relevant in Jung, using the sea journey archetype to describe the dissociative experience in alchemy, i.e., psychology: its dangers and its transformative power.
"This, in the alchemical allegory, is expressed by the King's cry for help from the depths of his unconscious, a dissociated state. The conscious mind should respond to this call:"
The homeland of nothing whatsoever is the true abode.
