@scottyorange but you definitely have friends here... What's your PhD focus again?

@MrGoat wow! We are small compared to the universe but we have the universe in us as well. Interesting: when my wife and I learned to scuba dive in Roatan a few years back, our instructor was completely enamored of finding really small living things in the ocean. He brought along a special camera to zoom in on things almost too small for the naked eye. It was wondrous!

@altamaha I also would've thought Germany would be higher...

“Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) was temporarily banned from speaking on the House floor Wednesday by Republicans in the chamber, not for suggesting that Donald Trump is guilty of things he hasn’t been convicted of but simply for listing the particulars of his many ongoing legal battles.”

Facts are scary things to the GOP. They want to be victims, without the pain. They want to break the law without the consequences.

Vote Republicans out. They don’t care about We The People.

@feloneouscat @mfioretti there are at least two huge problems with generative AI that I see right now: first, the capacity for people right now to be fooled by disinfo is overwhelming. LLMs are starting to disproportionately contribute to that ecosystem. Second, the old adage that when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail seems to be thoroughly infecting roadmaps. Much capital is being diverted from things that work at least fairly well to difficult to get right AI features.

My God, this is a masterclass in vocal control and harmony.

Or as Israeli journalist and parent Haviv Rettig Gur put it, ““It is me knowing that in my street, every neighbor I have, the ones I like, the ones I'm arguing with about parking spaces, is going to run into fire for my kids. And therefore, I know that I will run into fire for their kids. It is that firm knowledge which is true across Israeli society.”

Some analysts believe Israel scores so high for a number of factors, including having one of the premier health plans in the world, and a strong sense of community across the small nation.

Each respondent provides a numerical response on this scale, referred to as the Cantril ladder. Typically, around 1,000 responses are gathered annually for each country.

This year, Israelis completed the survey in January, post October 7, three months into the Gaza war and after a brutal year of division over the judicial reform proposals. Guess where Israel landed: Fifth! Behind four Nordic countries! The US dropped several slots to 23rd.

From my friend Brad Goverman over at the Jew News Review:

But even better news on the Israel front came in this year’s World Happiness report. The report bases its subjective analysis on what they call “Life evaluations”. The Gallup World Poll, which remains the principal source of data in this report, asks respondents to evaluate their current life as a whole using the image of a ladder, with the best possible life for them as a 10 and worst possible as a 0.

@jordicusmaximus thank you! It all started when I made it to that giant pulsing ovum before everyone else!

@Agatha they might mean $100 for each case but $500 for all 3 cases and the machine?

@Render it's clear that they don't recognize the Israel's right to exist because they are referring to Israel and the territories exclusively as Palestine. They are also paying lip service by asking for replacement of these organizations by "non Zionist" Jewish ones. Unlike the GOP who is new to the game, these fuckers have been saying the quiet part out loud for decades.
