Vance’s solutions to school shootings? Better locks, stronger doors and windows and cops.

We’ve done that. It doesn’t work.

You know what HASN’T been tried?

More gun control.

“We have to make the windows stronger and, of course, we’ve got to increase school resource officers. Because the idea that we can magically wave a wand and take guns out of the hands of bad guys, it just doesn’t fit with recent experience.”

No one is talking magic or wands.

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who has called on Gov. Roy Cooper to deploy more resources to help people in western North Carolina, was the only Council of State member to not vote on Cooper's request to declare a state of emergency.

Balz/Vance debate:

Balz: Did Trump lose?
Vance: <non-answer>
Walz: Damning non-answer

At a different point:

Vance: Trump peacefully transferred power
Me: As long as you pretend Jan 6 didn’t happen

Vance: The rules said no fact-checking
Me: So you admit you are lying?

Vance: I want to set a minimum national standard on abortion
Me: Yes, the minimum national standard is no abortion.

Vance: Energy independence through drilling
Me: So you want oil workers to be paid less?

"’I never supported a national ban," Vance shot back. "When I was running for Senate in 2022, I talked about setting a minimum national standard.’ ...Which is literally what a ban is: a minimum point after which a woman can no longer receive this abortion care.“

Trump/Vance would ban reproductive care. All gone so they can establish fetal personhood. Conservative SCOTUS will say that’s Constitutional because reasons.

Vance: "There's something comparable between abortion and slavery, and that while the people who obviously suffer the most are those subjected to it. I think it has this morally distorting effect on the entire society."

That wasn’t asked at the debate. But Walz saying he was near China during Tiananmen Square was important?

WTAF?

Holy Gods this hits hard.

Artist Jonathan Harris and his painting titled “Critical Race Theory”

Trump: “Everyone knows I would not support a federal abortion ban, under any circumstances, and would, in fact, veto it, because it is up to the states to decide based on the will of the their voters”

No, because you have flip flopped on this issue so many times no one knows where you stand.

But we DO know you find women’s bodies repugnant. We DO know you believe we should not have the right to decide our own choices.

You would ban abortion in a New York minute.

“He looked beautiful tonight,” Watters told a Fox News’ panel after the debate ended. “He looked humble. He looked earnest, sharp—20 years younger than Walz.”

That would be because he is 20 years younger than Walz. 🤦🏻‍♀️

But beautiful? So that is Watters’ type? Bearbros?

“Their responsibility is to call out lies. If they don’t do that on live television, during the most consequential election in modern history, they are the lesser for it” said Dan Rather.

Because MSM is closer to stenographers than news people. It’s not about getting out facts, it’s about not saying things that are true.

Vance could have said MLK was a Black Hitler and I doubt he would have been fact checked.

Vance: If I’m not allowed to lie, it’s not a debate.

Me: 😶

Trump’s tax cuts did nothing but add to the ever increasing US debt.

Democrats get called “tax and spend” but AT LEAST we pay for it.

Republicans are “borrow and spend” — to them, as long as it is paid by their grandchildren it’s okay.

The US is nothing but a giant credit card.

It’s sad when Republicans ATTEMPT to rewrite a history before they were born.

"If you look at what was so different about Donald Trump's tax cuts, even from previous Republican tax cut plans, is that a lot of those resources went to giving more take-home pay to middle-class and working-class Americans."

Trickle down is very old. It was originally called “Horse and Sparrow” — what the horse doesn’t eat, the sparrow does.

Yup, that insulting.

Republicans ever since have implemented harsher and harsher laws to prevent “illegal voting” — when the real problem is WE ARE NOT RED!!!

We were a purple state that has been hijacked by Republicans and held hostage.

“Oh, what about the votes?”

Yeah, right. You mean where large cities (Houston) are given a small number of polling places and people have to wait hours to vote? That seems fair.

It’s gotten to the point people don’t vote because of this shit.

What I read: “Texas is a historically Red state…”

Reality: In 2003, Rep. Tom DeLay helped redraw Texas districts FIVE YEARS before the census. It was unprecedented and gave Republicans a historical advantage. Only 57% of Texas backed Republicans.

A purple state was taken over by Republicans who have fought to implement voter intimidation laws.

When Texas Republicans forced driver’s license requirements to vote, THE GOVERNOR couldn’t vote!

What Vance said: “Sometimes, of course, I disagree with the president, but I’ve also been extremely open about the fact that I was wrong about Donald Trump.”

What Vance omitted: “Especially after he put me on the list as a VP nominee”
