Republicans ever since have implemented harsher and harsher laws to prevent “illegal voting” — when the real problem is WE ARE NOT RED!!!
We were a purple state that has been hijacked by Republicans and held hostage.
“Oh, what about the votes?”
Yeah, right. You mean where large cities (Houston) are given a small number of polling places and people have to wait hours to vote? That seems fair.
It’s gotten to the point people don’t vote because of this shit.
@feloneouscat I feel like, in order for that to end peacefully, there will have to be a Herculean effort on the part of Democratic Texans to regain the representation they should rightfully have via civic means - voting, participating in the political process in every feasible way, and mobilizing on a massive scale to do so.
Otherwise, AFAIK situations like that rarely end well - they may simmer / lie dormant for decades or even centuries, but eventually a match is struck... and Rome burns.
