When I did simple tests, it involved variations of “What is two plus two plus one” — my reasoning is that “two plus two equals four” would show up a lot in training data (it did). Different LLM’s tried to discard, ignore or even say “that’s not a valid equation” (Google’s Bard).

The common misconception of engineering is that we are out to denigrate the people we are in competition with: no, that is marketing.

Engineering is about risk management. The greater the risk the more likely you will lose your job. Testing AI is important because too many people want to believe it is a magic bullet that will solve all ills.

It isn’t.

This paper is important to explain there is little reasoning in AI.

Most engineers have to fight management’s bad ideas.

This helps.

Of course the writer says they the authors work for Apple so the paper can’t be good 🙄

Or, for that matter, for a couple of decades. The largest gaming demographic is men in their thirties and they use consoles. Yes, there is the occasional market, but it’s not the money maker (it makes money, don’t get me wrong, just not like COD).

The PRESENT is handheld, but the future will still be consoles because disposable income historically increases as you age.
