Okay peeps
fun social engineering / physical security quiz!
Based on this picture of a door lock, what do you think the passcode is for entry? Please include the order the characters are entered.
(This is from a thread on X I'll post the thread URL later I'll give it a few hours) ((no cheating now by trying to find the thread lol))
@ecksmc I'm guessing 459 in that order, but not really sure. The 4 looks bigger.
@ecksmc
I’ll call 1950#
@ecksmc
Then I’ll say at some point it didn’t work, and someone nearly broke the damn thing. Look at the crack just above the handle.😂
@thereg001 @ecksmc
Agreed. It's the laziest/quickest.
Besides 2580# - but no prints there.
@ecksmc 9510
@ecksmc ooo I’ll play
My guess would go to 0159#
My reasoning is that when someone starts entering their code they press a bit harder to make sure that it responds/enters. After the first two digits the presses look less “pushed” ending on a # to potentially signify the “enter” command. 😅
Im more curious as to who took the photo and why 🤔
@MgBarbatos all will be revealed later 😜
@ecksmc anything you like. It's broken.
To be fair, with a Sawzall, the passcode is whatever you want it to be... same as with a sledgehammer. People underestimate how much most don't pay attention to their surroundings, as long as it confirms to their expectation of what's "normal".
Wear an orange vest or workman's gear, and carry a 2x4 or orange cone and you can get in just about anywhere, except for high security facilities. Even then, it's a toss-up. Bonus points for hardhat or 2-way radio.
@ecksmc Looks to me like a 6 digit code. The 1 and 0 are pressed twice and then the 5 and 9 once. Then the # key. Could be in any order. Before it got broken anyway lol
@ecksmc
1590#
Here's the answer
The door code is: 0915#
@thereg001 & @process got it right
