Alright riddle me this Batmans. Batmen? Alright anyway, so I put in 98GB of memory and my Linux box was a lot faster. I put in the other stick to bring it up 128GB and then all of a sudden it just kept reloading the login screen. I got it into the GUI once but it crashed.
Why no 128gb for me? Fresh install or SOL?

@mims they were the same make, brand, all that good stuff. It was the AI models that was doing it. Now it's reading all 128gb and performing like a champ.

Only install paired RAM modules. You probably f'ed it up mismatching the capacity, brand, and timing. Also, I assume you meant 96gb? Pull the un-paired RAM, and your system will purr at 64gb. Now find yourself another paired kit of 64gb (2x 32gb), and your system will like you again. We all make mistakes, just try not to make them again.
@Eli no it was weird, Linux was reading 98. Pulled it out and it was still clunky. The culprit was the models, they were too much for my system because I only have one GPU in it and these models require multiple.
@dr_zooks I would replace the third stick with the fourth stick and see if that gives you the problem with 98GB. Just for S&Gs.
@BFBucky1 the funny thing is when I checked the memory in the terminal after I put the 4th stick in, it was giving me 131GB
so everything is weird over here.
@dr_zooks my understanding (and this might be wrong with a capital W) is that all memory modules have to be identical in memory amount, speed, mfgr, etc .
please can anyone out here in CoSo computie land tell me if this is a fact (I heard it from a computie googlie admin) - maybe I heard wrong
