@1Firewire these guys and their faberge masculinity...
@MyRadar does the gyre gimble in the wabe?
holy shit my husband's MRI was supposed to take an hour, we've been here for THREE. they took him back at least two hours ago. I barely had anything for breakfast and I haven't had lunch and I have no idea when he'll be done so I don't know if I should just go get something or keep waiting. I get VERY HANGRY if I have to wait more than 2 hours past lunchtime...
@GrandmaJ absolutely. we're all atheist in this house but if my kiddos ever do get that theistic itch, there's a lutheran church down the street that always has progressive/anti-trump messages on its board
@GrandmaJ @misslovelymess I'm hoping I can head this off by talking politics with my kids while they're young. I want them to know what's happening in the world (to an age-appropriate extent), I want them to know how I vote and more importantly WHY. I want to instill progressive values in them as early as possible, and maintain that political conversation as they grow up so there's no room for them to fall down a rabbit hole and end up radicalized.
@VelvetDuchess @CanisVeritum I wasn't aware Bad Bunny had ever endorsed Trump.
@sentientdessert I'm sorry, "bite one end of the paper off"?! I did this so many times as a kid and not once have I had to *bite* the end of the paper off. 😰
Arnold Schwarzenegger endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz
@th3j35t3r like a fucking Isaac Asimov scene. "YOU ARE IN DANGER" "no I'm not, leave me alone!" "I AM RESCUING YOU" [beats the shit out of you]
I mean he is a major party candidate for president, and also under several federal felony indictments (plus awaiting sentencing on 34 felony convictions). it's not like we're just breathlessly obsessed with his every move as a private citizen. and is a candidate not supposed to mention their opponent? how many times did he name check Kamala at his Nazi rally?
What he's also too much of a dick to see is that newspaper's are given credence with endorsements because they have their ear to the ground and are supposed to use their deep knowledge of candidates to help guide their readers.
Also, I think endorsements are as much statements of being good civic partners as the fourth estate as they are endorsements.
It's about putting their values as a free press and their readership first.
He's failed spectacularly here and should sell WAPO.
@MidnightRider was switzerland right to stay neutral in WW2? perhaps taking a principled stand is worth the cost of pissing off a larger chunk of the venn diagram?
i rely on journalists to state facts, even when those facts are unpopular. i rely on journalists to defend human rights, even when those rights belong to a tiny minority.
