what's inconsistent about those views? "any country would respond this way. it's shitty and shouldn't happen, but that's how people are." if Israel wants to look to American precedent so badly, they should look at how we took out bin Laden. it wasn't a carpet bombing campaign, it didn't take tanks and fighter jets and razing an entire country to the ground. it took a small, highly-skilled team to covertly pinpoint his location and execute a targeted infiltration of his compound. no civilians were killed. no infrastructure was destroyed.
