exactly. you can't implement regime change via genocide.

if Israel wants to look to American precedent so badly, they should look at how we took out bin Laden. it wasn't a carpet bombing campaign, it didn't take tanks and fighter jets and razing an entire country to the ground. it took a small, highly-skilled team to covertly pinpoint his location and execute a targeted infiltration of his compound. no civilians were killed. no infrastructure was destroyed.

again, THAT IS THEIR FUCKING JOB. slaughtering civilians because otherwise "soldiers would be at risk of being killed!" reeks of Uvalde cops letting children bleed to death because "we might get shot!" YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS, LITERALLY.

if this was happening in Russia or Afghanistan or Iran, we would be vocally and aggressively condemning it. why does Israel get a free pass for this shit?

goddammit fascism. New Zealand was perfect. it was doing everything right. it was heading in the right direction. why'd you have to fuck it all up?

@dietotaku Yes, but that was one guy. I don't think there's a one guy with Hamas. I don't think there's an easy "all you have to do is..."

I absolutely agree with your sentiment and direction, though. There's surely ways to get rid of Hamas that don't involve blowing up a bunch of civilians and the infrastructure and basic resources they need to survive.

@dietotaku It feels to me a lot like if the Palestinian people weren't being treated horrifically, they wouldn't be vulnerable to Hamas. There would be no real niche for Hamas to occupy.

A path to get rid of Hamas may be to get rid of the problems Hamas pretends they are there to solve.
