Happy to all who celebrate!

Happy to everyone else!

Fun : For historical reasons, Easter is the most complicated holiday to calculate each year among US holidays and probably worldwide. Easter is defined as the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Spring Equinox. This gives it a range like a full moon cycle, about 29.5 days which is why Easter is sometimes in March and sometimes in April.

Well, it's about my bedtime. I was at work until about 7:30 tonight getting ready for the start of spring semester classes tomorrow. This semester is special. My school is down a teacher so different ones of us have been sacrificing our planning period to teach a section. I volunteered this time so I'll be teaching 28 9th graders all about Earth and Environmental Science, from astronomy to sustainability.

I should be exhausted, and I am, but I'm so excited for tomorrow. 🥰

OSIRIS-REx landing

Congratulations to the team on this achievement! That said, I want to preempt what is likely coming: amazing claims of finding life molecules on an asteroid!

✨🖖 If they find anything it probably came from Earth. 🖖✨

Earth has had life on it for 4 billion years. Meteor impacts, volcanic eruptions, and the like have all expelled material into space. Some of that material will have landed on our close neighbors. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

There is no neutral position. Following the leads us to . Personally, I regard the multiverse as science fiction because it is. If anyone is honest with themself and accepts the conclusions of modern science, then concluding that there must be a Creator God behind the curtain becomes the most rational choice based on science.

This is a scientific explanation for why I believe a Creator God exists and why I identify this Being with the God of the Bible. This is going to be a lengthy thread. Maybe grab a ☕.

Short answer: There isn't enough time or space for evolutionary processes to produce life in the universe.

Emeritus Lecture with Dr. , April 12, 2019 reasons.org

This talk is about an hour long with an audience Q&A session following. The focus of the lecture is on the many overlapping features of our universe and solar system that allow life to exist on Earth. Dr. Ross combines scientific evidence from a diverse array of sources to explain the formation of the Earth and the creation of life.

I'm shocked to discover that the famous scientist took credit for the work of others. Belgian cosmologist and catholic priest is the true father of the Big Bang Theory. How's that for irony? Learn all about it on the below.

Followers may be surprised that I am both a Christian and love science but I do. Here are two videos exploring the science behind the Christmas star as described in scripture. While we cannot draw a clear conclusion about what it was we can rule out some possibilities.

In this short video astronomer Jeff Zweerink shares a few of the many reasons why I believe there is a God who created everything. He created the entire universe so that we might have a nice place to live. Seriously. All of the fine-tuning details about our planet and beyond lead to this conclusion.

# Christianity

Christianity and science are not contradictory. They are not opposites and science hasn't disproven the need for God's existence. Read this passage describing an ancient airborne illness. In the same verse the afflicted are commanded to wear a mask (cover the upper lip) and be socially distant (cry out "Unclean!" so others stay away). This was good medical advice back then and remains best practice now with the pandemic.
