I've been reading #quotes by #ThomasPaine this morning. I don't recall why. Paine's writings are mixed on the topic of #religion, sometimes they have the appearance of christian language and at other times they are expressly atheist and even virulently anti-religious. American Christians are known more for what they are against than what they stand for. This is wrong and violates the biblical principles found in 1 Corinthians 5:11-13. Recall Jesus' words that it should be "our love for one another" that will identify us as Christians to the outside world. Instead of protesting (outward) we need to clean our house (inward) and see to the spiritual upbringing of our own.
