My Instagram feed keeps showing "Save monies by growing your own weed" ads.

Weed is so cheap! I can get baked every day for less than a cup of coffee. Ridiculous.

The "planned" powee outage on our street caught us by surprise. We both have powered recliners, and are both stuck feet up.

Eventually we'll have to crawl out, for bio breaks at least; but until then we're stuck. Kind of literally. 😂

Island County Safety (Washington state) radio is blowing up a bit. 16 hour manhunt in it's final hours, suspect surrounded in a house.

Last half hour seems to have been dominated by flashlight and lantern issues. The MRAP crew is ready to go, sounds like.

Crazed Republicans trying to kill Trump - Yep, sounds like time travelers coming back to stop the complete destruction of the GOP.

Dividing people into "Us" and "Them" is such an effective tactic.

In fact, there is no "Us", we're all "Them". There are varying degrees of agreement and commonality, but in the end we're all individuals.

We spend far too much time and energy trying to debunk the concept of "Them" being bad. We're getting it backwards - we should embrace our "Themness" and debunk the concept of "Us".

Here's a (hypothetical) example of how tariffs work:

Portuguese companies sell cork in the US for 20% less than US cork manufacturers. The US government puts a 25% tariff on Portuguese cork.

Now Americans pay 20% more for cork, because they're buying US cork.

That's it. Portugal doesn't give us monies - they sell less to us, so lose those sales.

US citizens pay more for cork.
