Amazing imaging tool. Basically shows level of cellular activity. A healing wound shows bright - as does tumors or other areas of intense growth/ repair.
@MeditatorMom
The area was heavily mined, mainly for silver, in the past (and still). The massive piles of mine tailings and other already disturbed earth found all over the US; are also potential targets for rare earth extraction.
Rare earths are more common than many other metals, but tend to spread apart rather than clump together like the pretty, popular metals.
Rare earths are the nerd girls sitting alone around the edges of the middleschool cafeteria, while Gold, Silver, etc. rule.
@MeditatorMom
Not that I'm on the side of the mining companies; but calling the area "pristine" seems a reach.
They flooded a whole town damming Rapid creek to create the Pactola reservoir. What concerns people is that mining in the surrounding hills will damage the recreational and domestic water usefulness of the area.
Which is quite possibly true. The now mostly flooded tailings, and particularly the runoff from those tailings; is a rich source of various rare earth metals.

I suspect havens like this are especially useful for people who are socially awkward, and blocking someone for awkward or poorly thought-out statements won't help them grow.

I haven't had to block anyone here either. I love to hear other people's world view. The clowns and trolls don't last here.
@Soldier_Solitude
Ludicrously rich people throwing sex parties. I have a difficult time thinking of the participants as victims.
It seems like they were invited to a sex party, and their reluctance was overcome by various incentives. Now, 10-20 years later they're looking for a payday.
Or, maybe I'm just a cynical bastard. Idk.
@AskTheDevil Offline!
I know. Some people should be blocked, but if you block someone just because you disagree with them, it's troublesome.
I think I got blocked by someone. Huh.
It's a serious problem with social media - if you don't like what someone is saying, you can ignore them too easily.
Do that enough, and you'll never be exposed to anything the slightest bit challenging to your world view. You've made yourself ignorant, on purpose.
It's a puzzle. Personal growth is reliant on being exposed to new ideas and other opinions. Living in an echo chamber isn't healthy for your spirit.
This court is the one that said Trump could do anything he deemed official, with impunity. The 2000 court was a precedent for setting aside election results.
As far as the bad guys, the board and funders of the Heritage Foundation comes to mind as a starting point.
As to my own agenda, I suppose I'm maybe holding a sign on a streetcorner that says: "The End is Near"
I do hope that I'm not alone descending on DC with some r/HayforksandFirebrands & big hammers; if necessary.
@mcfate
I don't think this "Supreme" court cares about it's reputation or honor. When Nixon was interviewed by David Frost, he stated: "Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal", by definition.
This scandalous and ridiculous statement by a former president was seen as so extreme as to be laughable; and another reason people were glad Nixon was forced to resign.
This court codified that statement as law.
They're treasonous, credulous puppets of. . . someone bad.
@TheLegend_AZ
Yeah, McD puts were crazy this morning.

Or be appointed, Like the shrub on December 12, 2000.
As I've mentioned b4, my wife has 40 years experience as an activities director for seniors with dementia; mostly in locked wards.
She is absolutely amazed, every time she sees Trump speaking, that he's not in a locked ward on a memory care unit.
His behaviors are identical to her former patients. She thinks he's months away from completely losing it.
That would leave us with Preznit Vance and 2025.
So I just learned about Orville Peck, and his mask gimmick.
What a fucking weirdo. Geez 'O Peets.
That is all. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orville_Peck
