As I've mentioned b4, my wife has 40 years experience as an activities director for seniors with dementia; mostly in locked wards.

She is absolutely amazed, every time she sees Trump speaking, that he's not in a locked ward on a memory care unit.

His behaviors are identical to her former patients. She thinks he's months away from completely losing it.

That would leave us with Preznit Vance and 2025.

Or be appointed, Like the shrub on December 12, 2000.

@danalan

You're kidding me, right? You think the Supreme Court is aching to take another bite at THAT poisoned apple?

They don't have ENOUGH people hating them sufficiently? They need MORE people hating them WORSE?

Tell me: what benefit do you see yourself deriving from this sort of catastrophizing?

I don't think this "Supreme" court cares about it's reputation or honor. When Nixon was interviewed by David Frost, he stated: "Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal", by definition.

This scandalous and ridiculous statement by a former president was seen as so extreme as to be laughable; and another reason people were glad Nixon was forced to resign.

This court codified that statement as law.

They're treasonous, credulous puppets of. . . someone bad.

@danalan

None of which has much to do with the matter at hand.

The Supreme Court β€” that's its actual name, no scare quotes needed β€” certainly cares about having mobs with pitchforks and torches showing up outside their residences, they've demonstrated that.

Not to mention that the only justice on the 2000 Supreme Court and the 2024 Supreme Court is Thomas.

You're really reaching here. I just can't imagine WHY. Will making up improbabilities and worrying about them change reality?

@danalan

And this assertion of "puppets" combined with a lack of evidence for "someone bad" violates Occam's Razor, you're literally "needlessly multiplying entities".

Were a pretty entirely different set of justices all "puppets" of the SAME "bad someone" 24 years ago? Or is there a NEW "bad someone" who's taken over in the interim? When was the "changeover" in "bad someones"?

Also, how does a "bad someone" enforce his will over seventeen different justices who literally have jobs for LIFE?

@mcfate

This court is the one that said Trump could do anything he deemed official, with impunity. The 2000 court was a precedent for setting aside election results.

As far as the bad guys, the board and funders of the Heritage Foundation comes to mind as a starting point.

As to my own agenda, I suppose I'm maybe holding a sign on a streetcorner that says: "The End is Near"

I do hope that I'm not alone descending on DC with some r/HayforksandFirebrands & big hammers; if necessary.
