My little slice of heaven.
Except for the roadway noise (I live in rural valley in Maine with a state highway running straight through it on the other side of the house, that sees maybe 1-2 statues / sheriffs patrolling it a month so it's a giant drag strip in the warmer months, I still wouldn't trade it though)

I voyeur-ed threads and this is my take:
It is every single annoying person you remember from high school, but now they've grown very bitter [or worse] from Twitter and they're ready to hang by a thread. Like they're putting their sanity on the line to be the kid with the loudest truck or newest MLM product or whatever.
Why are we (humans) so gross 😞 I want a shower.
Any bets on how much #meta is gonna start charging for API access? I mean the reddit change went over so well I now spend less than 10 minutes a day on reddit since baconreader was forced into shutting down 😂😂
Threads is exploitative garbage.
You're welcome to stan them, but you're likely to get muted and/or blocked by a great many here who know better. #RandomThoughts
Great to see #threads doesn't have any improvement in spam / bots prevention.
Posted my first thread and got zero engagement so, I probably won't be using that app unless the cage fight is streamed on it 😂😂
So glad I got off the Google domains years ago, seriously I do not understand why anyone would use Google for anything remotely related to business.
Republicans negotiated cutting $2 billion dollars Biden was going to use for audits of the top 1% next year.
The top 1% are thought to cheat to the tune of $163 billion each year.
Ergo, Republican negotiations to reduce our debt just added $161 billion to the debt.
You know -- like how ending high school sex ed in Texas resulted in an explosion of teen pregnancy and an STD epidemic?
Yeah, like that.
Anyone noticed lately how much meta seems to be following the dumpster fire trend that is the new features from the chief twit?
You can now pay to be verified on Instagram, most ads on Facebook seem to have a regularly displayed view count. The amount of ridiculous notifications of "you may like this" which to be fair was not a chief twit idea it existed before that. Like yes let's all vie to be the best dumpster fire
It's not just RAFT that leaps to mind: GuildWars2, Minecraft, Borderlands, WoW, and most phone games.
All seem to possess poorly mixed or ill-thought-out default sound levels.
For raft right now, the master is at 6 percent, and the PC volume is maxed.
And the music slider at 100% is at the perfect sound level, as long as you don't mind hearing any SFX, UI, Ambience, or Notebook sounds!
, everyone was cool with it, and now every game developer just roles with it?
I just fired up RAFT for the first time cause why not, it was on my wishlist, and I got it for a gift this past holiday season.
So naturally, everything is loud, and I turn down the master. Now I can barely hear any game sounds. Still, the music is now at a level that compliments the gaming experience instead of me having to think about rushing to mute it.

1/2 Is it just me, or does no video game the first time you fire it up (or your settings go bye-bye)
Have no decent existing mixing of volume levels between game music and game audio?
While the developers were busy developing and playtesting, did none of them think to bring up game sound balancing??!? Do we not survey playtesters for that? Did one CEO once say this game needs music, and they dropped in an album from the world's best band at the time, so naturally <continues...>
