Hmm. I guess I am late to the party.

I used to look forward to articles written by Matt Taibbi. He seemed to be a voice of clarity amidst an overloud clamor of mishmash and jiggery-pokery. In fact, his writing was one of the reasons I briefly subscribed to Rolling Stone a few years ago.

Maybe it's just me, but now he seems... different. Has he been infected with the same mindvirus¹ that is currently claiming the far right?

You can’t make this up. Just 10 days after shooting down a bill to provide free lunch to low-income students, the North Dakota Senate approved legislation to give lawmakers more money for meal reimbursements.

They’re giving themselves free lunch, but not kids.

The legislation increases reimbursements for state employees, including lawmakers during interim legislative meetings, from $35 per day to $45 per day.

Received email today from a reasonably well-known company/website. The title of the email article was "When life gives you a TikTok ban, make a Lemon8 account". So they seem to be promoting Lemon8 as an alternative to TikTok, since the fate of TikTok is "hanging in the balance."

The odd thing is that Lemon8 is owned by the very same parent company as TikTok, and which is based in China.

I guess I now have to try and understand their motives.
