Just unsubscribed from my cable TV service. This will be the first time in over 50 years that I have lived in a household without cable.
I'm curious, do you still have cable (or satellite) television in your home?

@RandallTT Still have it but working up the courage to dump it soon.

@cjcrew I had been procrastinating about leaving for a long time. I finally got the push when the new owner of our service provider required a hardware upgrade (with an additional $10 monthly rental fee).

@RandallTT I’m actually only using it for the internet access at this point, but one of our customers at work has an ISP service
and I’m planning on going with that and dumping Comcast completely. I just get tired thinking about packing up the equipment and then trying to get an address where I can send it because they don’t provide packing materials and it usually takes three tries and at least one 35 minute wait to get a human so you can ask a question that isn’t in the FAQ.

@cjcrew I hear you on those points. The pain and time of trying to get through to a real person (and then listening to their sales pitch).
Fortunately our company doesn't want their old TV equipment back. They said just take it to an electronics recycling center. So that makes it much easier.

@RandallTT Comcast sometimes wants the equipment back, sometimes doesn’t. Depends on whether it’s too old to be recycled back to another customer. Everything is done for Comcast’s financial benefit.
