@EileenKCarpenter I have been asked if I would do door to door canvassing and my answer is HELL NO. With so many trigger happy gun owners, you’d be daft. Plus who among us would open the door to chat with a stranger?

I’ve done it, and a lot of people are very nice. I had the sense it made a lot of difference with the Obama campaign. Black voters didn’t tend to believe he could win, and when voting meant standing in long lines, people needed to feel their vote mattered. Seeing massive numbers of white volunteers knocking on doors for a Black candidate brought people out on their porches to marvel at it.
Not so much for Hillary, though number of volunteers were even larger.

THE GREAT THING IS -- there are all kinds of things you can do in addition to voting. Call your local democratic party and ask how you can help
