Today got pulled aside for a meeting (virtually) to see if I wanted to take over a side project data task he had thrown together.

So. Anyone following at home. Earlier this week, wife got sick. I took care of baby, averaged 3 hours of sleep a day all week. Wife starts feeling overall better Thursday, but takes a covid taste Wednesday. It was/is covid.
Friday, we closed on a house! We can move in asap.

Saturday I develop a fever. Baby does too.... Ugh.
(We were vaccinated and still wear masks. We just got unlucky)

Please send positive energy toward me today.
Nothing life threatening, just been under a lot of stress and if even one person spares a positive thought my way, that'll go along way.
I basically have to wake up early and hope for a very specific set of circumstances to go my way.

@Museek I respect and support your decision. My eldest is currently going to school because we don't really have the resources to keep him out right now. Luckily he's been fully vaccinated but we've been told to watch for symptoms at least three times because of direct exposure. Luckily he is fully vaccinated along with my wife and myself, but my youngest is only 18 months and we're terrified of what he might catch and what it might do. It has been tough mentally

@EnochianEntropy I will also say I managed to score a PS5 (at retail price) so I playing it on there and the way they use the controller features is a lot of fun.

@EnochianEntropy so I've gotten it but due to baby and work and life in general I've only gotten to play a little bit of it. (Like I think I might still technically kind of be in the tutorial although the game has opened up but I was told to do this next target so) and I am loving it. Never played Dishonored for more than like 5 minutes but I enjoyed one little I played and I've never played Prey. But I enjoy stealth games and the dialogue and the aesthetic are right up my alley.

I am terrible about keeping up with social media. And I really need to start checking this more than the other site.

Another news this little monster turned 18 months today. It's 2:00 in the morning and I'm currently trying to get him in bed while the wife works at a haunted house. And recently he's more or less refused to go to sleep with me. So we're lounging on the couch and he's leaning on me as we watch bowling for soup music videos because that's what he loves.<3

My job has been wonderful about dealing with new baby.
This week, I woke up late for work every day due to taking care of baby.
Today, on my off day, I'm up super early when I don't have to be! Yay!

First day since March working in the office.

Kinda nice to see people but man. It feels weird and still kinda wish I didn't have to be here.

I used to pirate a bunch of tv shows. But the rise of steaming made accessing the stuff I wanted to watch so easy, that I stopped about 5 years ago.

But I swear. Every time a new service pops up, I'm very tempted to go back.

@Thumprhare he's asleep so far, I'm about to try to sleep. Luckily he's started sleeping relatively well at night, just sometimes doesn't want to go when we would like him to go to sleep.
But, couldn't ask for a better overall baby.<3

It's 1:30 in the morning, and I'm still working off and on. Transitioned to a new team, and then immediately got put on a priority request from one of the heads if the company.

Gotta love/hate being a super valuable team member.

So, sleep deprived from life with a baby, and you know, actually being a helpful dad. But also working from home.
Started working at random hours while actually awake.
But now, I have to get ready to convince my boss to make everyone rewrite one of our entire systems.

2 weeks old. Got a rattle that he isn't super interested in yet, but I still love it. Feel a bit of the new normal starting to settle. Got to play a bit of a game today.

Mal had his first huge road trip out today. Back up to 9lbs 10oz, so he's growing.
