@Error418tws Also, I was taught in high school pre-algebra, but that’s because my teacher was painfully aware most of us wouldn’t learn it otherwise. No one ever taught us about credit cards. This was for graduating class of 1988 in a class C school in Southern Michigan

@Error418tws I was speaking of the friend you referenced. If you didn’t have enough money to make a purchase without overdrawing your checking account; then, I’m sorry, but that is a crime. Look it up. I was shocked when I found out, too, but after I bounced several checks my dad told me I was lucky I hadn’t been hauled off to court yet. I said, “Yeah, right.” He said, “Yeah, right!” I looked it up and was shocked he was telling the truth! Deliberate = Civil liability

@Beanc You mean you’ve added it to your filters or the site has banned it?

@Error418tws Well, considering overdrawing your account is technically a crime for which the better banks generously have a 24-hour grace period of correction deposit, I can see how some may have lived their lives unaware—especially if they paid no attention to the person who opened the account for them and threw out the terms of service brochure. “Just give me the checks and the debit card.” Probably doesn’t know how to use the check register, either. They don’t teach that anymore in school.

When your sleeping pill has the exact opposite effect and you’re now 2 hours after taking it….

A limerick I wrote in 11th grade entitled “Py-Co-Payed”:

There once was a toothbrush so frayed
Its owner’s teeth it did evade.
What of halitosis?
His breath was the grossest,
And the moss on his teeth felt like suede.
__C.A. Addison, 1986

(Note: Py-Co-Pay used to be a brand of toothbrush. I believe they’re no longer in business.)

I have jazz hands and I know how to use them

It was such a random thing to happen 😂. I was growing impatient with this woman ahead of me in the parking lot then I saw the seagull. About that time two others saw it too. I tried to pull out my phone to get a photo but the seagull dropped the money when it realized it wasn’t food and the woman ran up and grabbed it. I do think the two other people got pictures, as they had their cameras out. We all just stood there laughing and shaking our heads.

@holon42 @hootenanny I would even go so far as to say the false prophets.

@hootenanny they do reflect their ACTUAL values, if you listen to their preachers, it's loud and clear, they are the wolves of which Jesus warned. led astray their own worst angels.

@PaintedMask I still slept with a teddy bear until my apartment got bedbugs in January. Now I have to throw him away after taking him everywhere with me for 42 years.
