Don't you hate it when you get a new toy but can't use it for a few days? Now that I've handled most of the pressing issues on the "new" truck (check engine keeps coming and going, code says EVAP purge valve but the truck "passed" smog so I got a year before I have to care enough to fix it) I ordered a new radio to fill the hole in the dash. Comes with a backup cam. Delivered today. Prob is, the brackets/wiring harness won't show till Tues.

I also tried out Chronos: Before The Ashes (on ) the last couple days. I like the concept/story, the art style/atmosphere is cool, but I'm not going to finish it. It feels too Souls-like for me while also feeling clunky, like something from around 2005. Combat is stiff which, coupled with a less than ideal control scheme, lead to several "cheap" feeling deaths. Glad it was in the PSN Extra catalog so it was "free" (leaves 5/15!).

Virginia(Multi-plat, played on )
First person mystery played from the POV of an FBI agent.

This is an odd one. No dialogue, on rails mostly, with a heavy David Lynch flavor. Lot of odd cuts and dreams rolled together to create the narrative. Fairly simple art style with a lot of bright colors. I rolled credits in 2 hours. Judging by the trophies, there's some exploration I missed. Dug it enough to play through again to find it.

@SaltyVeruca Already have. It's a stackable set, was given to me non-op. Had to dig into the wiring to get the dryer working, then clear the fan of lint, dryer sheets, etc because of the busted housing. Timer not turning is eh, leave it on and check in an hour. The housing is plastic with a bunch of holes drilled through it. Thinking a cheap plastic cutting board, 1/8th inch thick, cut to fit, holes drilled through and secured with zip ties/wire inside the housing so clothes don't catch on it.

Did all our laundry yesterday. It's been 6-ish years since doing laundry meant using machines without coin slots in em. Damn but it's nice having our own machines, even if they nearing 40 yrs old and have some issues, lol. Dryer timer can't turn on its own. The lint trap housing is busted. Part no longer available at warehouses so I'll have to cobble up some kinda repair to keep clothes from getting jammed against the lint trap I warped to fit in the machine. I have ideas.

@singlemaltgirl

Why thank you. If they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy 😉

Today was spent setting up the washer/dryer stack I was given (and repaired) a couple weeks ago in the shed. Used a Dremel cutting bit to cut holes in the side wall for the drain and vent. Cut a length of hose and clamped ends on to feed the washer. Modified a GE lint trap (stack is Westinghouse) to fit the dryer. Hooked it all up and tested, looked good. Ran a couple loads through. Maybe I been spoiled, but I have missed having my own laundry machines. Laundromats suck.

Lemme just say, absolutely FUCK ever building a tin shed again. You couldn't pay me enough to repeat this process. What a fiddly fucking bastard this was to build. I had thought when we picked this thing up that we wouldn't wanna leave it in the park when we move, but yeah fuck taking this thing back down, even. Park can have it. Didn't cost me anything but sweat and some blood, so screw it lol.

Here's what we've been doing the last 3 days. Emptied, then tore down our small wood shed. Used the wood and pallets to build a platform. Built the tin shed we picked up for free off FB Marketplace because it had been wrecked by wind as they were trying to build it. So it's brand new, tho it doesn't look it, lol. I unbent stuff as best I could, we did our best to fit the tweaked things together. It's not quite square, so there's some quirks, but it's a damn sight better than what we had.

@Gardenthymeherbs Had a Nissan Sentra before this truck. Trust me, I know lol. I'm still debating if I really need LEDs for the headlights. Gonna replace the rest of the running lights with em tho.

@MakerWerks Nice. With these new assemblies I prob don't HAVE to get LEDs.. but I am getting tired of being one of the few on the road around here without blinding headlights. Or maybe everyone is just driving with their brights on...

After dark we putted over to the AutoZone just down the street to test the light's adjustment. Flat parking lot with a wall to point at, you know. Driver side is a smidge high. Passenger is a smidge low, and needs to toe out just a bit. Damn it. Guess I'll be doing that in the morning, lol. Ought to be the last time I have to fuck with the lights till I get LEDs for em. .. It better be, anyway.

Morning spent adjusting headlight fitment. Figured out the adjusters too. Then got to work wiring the fog lights. What a fucking chore. Had to find a place for the relay and fuse. Then had to run the switch/fuse box wiring down through a hole behind the pedals and up into the dash. Multi-meter confirmed a fuse connection that only has power when key is at "On" position. Hooked up the + wire there, grounded the switch/lights. Hooked to + batt. terminal. Hey presto, let there be fog lights.

Collected the free 8x10 ft metal shed today. It did get beat up pretty good by the wind. But it is still new. Gave us the pallet they were gonna use with it too. Got all in the truck and back home no problem. Unloaded it and started unbending the frame bits. Mostly done. New headlights for the truck were on the porch, so I spent the evening installing them. They were not "bolt on just like stock!". Got em on, but it took some work so I didn't wire up the fog lights before dark. Tomorrow.

@DeadlyAccurate 2077 takes a little while to get going but once it does there's a bunch of stuff to do. It does get repetitive, which doesn't bother me as I like to grind on stuff. I thought the storylines were interesting enough, but it CDPR sure did oversell. Still, there's a decent amount of nuance that makes me think I might go back in some day and play another origin and make some different choices.

@DeadlyAccurate Yeah, I gotta make time to get into it tho. This truck we just bought been a bigger time sink than WoW lol. Now that I'm mostly done fixing it, starting to use it to suck more of my life away. Got a shed project starting tomorrow. Getting a "new" tin shed for free cause it got blown down as they tried putting it up in a wind storm 🤣 Bringing it home and fixing all the bent bits and then I gotta empty mine, tear it down, make a floor for the new one and put that up. Few days work.

@DeadlyAccurate I quite enjoyed 2077. I only played the Nomad origin, tho. From what I gathered, there wasn't a big enough difference in the game play between each origin to really make multiple playthroughs worth the time.

@DeadlyAccurate I haven't played it yet myself, but Elden Ring sure did win all the things last year. I put 250 hours into Witcher 3, and I don't regret a minute. No Man's Sky is great, tho the story is mostly your imagination. Haven't played Death Stranding yet either, but I'm looking to carve out time for it soon. Dragon's Age: <any>? Far Crys? Assassin's Creed Valhalla seems popular (I've soured on Ubisoft myself). After GTA5/RDR2 everything kinda pales in comparison, lol.

I'm going to pull all the windows off the shell and paint it white in the very near future. I figure after that I'll keep an eye out for a shell that's a better fit for the truck and when I find one I should be able to sell this one for prob double what I paid for it, at least.

Spotted a camper shell for $150 two hours after it was posted. Looked at it today, and while it's not a perfect fit for the Ranger, nor is it in *great* shape, the price was right. Spent the rest of the day scraping the paint off the windows. My hands are toast lol. Will hook up the brake light tomorrow.

Also installed a new billet grille yesterday. Led me to look closer at the headlights and realized they don't have DOT/SAE stamps, so I'm not sure they legal. Ordered new ones that are.
