In between trying to make it to The Show with my Road to the Show dude in MLB The Show 23 (did the other night, btw), I've been playing Hi-Fi Rush. Not a huge rhythm game fan but I'm quite enjoying it. Dope music, decent story/acting, and it doesn't punish you if you aren't dead on time (some boss battles require at least one well timed sequence in order to defeat it). On Sunday I stained the bedroom door I made for our RV. Chose Black Walnut, Danish oil type. Seemed to be the closest color to the wood and "wood", judging by a sample picture on a phone screen held up next to the stuff 😆 . Only had to do one pass, any more and it would have been too dark. Once I put the door back in its place it almost looks like it was made with the RV so I guess I did aight. #DIY #Woodworking

The MTB restoration is progressing nicely. Have stripped all the orange paint off the frame and hardware. Primed the frame. Pulled wheel hubs and cleaned/repacked bearings, same with the rear cassette. New tires and tubes installed, look real nice. Still waiting for paint/clear to show up, next week which is good since it's really humid ATM, primer crazed a little. Don't want the color coat to do that but it's gonna warm and dry up here soon. #DIY #Cycling

Also needs new tires and tubes. Gonna make this one my bike, let my partner use the '85 Schwinn Sierra. I figure she'll be able to keep up with me on it if we ride together since I always left her in the dust without even trying when we rode before lol.

Bought a pair of mountain bikes from a neighbor for $20. 26' Kent "women's", front suspension/disc brake. Pulled the bottom bracket/wheel hubs, cleaned and repacked bearings, tuned the gears into shape. $150 bike, sell it for $50 at least.

29' "men's" brand ? because the dumbass BRUSH painted it orange, thick coat too. Full suspension, front disc brake. Tore it down to frame, paint stripper overnight. Replacing bottom bracket w/Shimano sealed BB, new cables maybe shifters. #DIY 1/2

Wrote a review for Atomic Heart. TL, DR: it's a decent enough BioShock clone right down to the story beats. Seriously edgelord writing/inconsistent voice acting and bad (imo) melee combat weigh it down. @Redskye572 So far it's just been some growling and hissing. They are almost never without human observation and I'm willing to take damage to break up a fight if need be. We have just enough space in our RV they can all pick a spot to be left alone. And we have a cat play pen outside that can be used as a timeout spot if Beans (the brother) gets too feisty. Luckily he's the only one really, the other 2 are way cooler. One of em is a little hissy but not aggressively.

The #cats are tense today. Lilly, the girl we found a home for in Jan, had to come back as the kid we gave her to moved to a new place with dogs. She and the dogs did not get along. Her 2 slightly older cousins (girls) are doing ok with her return, her litter brother is very much not, and it's affecting all of em. Wouldn't think a few months would be enough for them to forget 4 years together but yep. Been a lot of hissing and growling from him. No fights yet, hopefully won't be but we'll see.

I'm enjoying BioShockski, I mean Atomic Heart well enough. The dude and his glove, as well as the upgrade kiosk are all still grating. There's some decent game here, it's just buried under some cringe inducing immature edgelord writing that is marginally better than a Duke Nukem game. If you can look past that shit, (a stiff ask for me, heh) then yeah most of the game mechanics are pretty solid besides the melee. This cubby gets quite warm after a couple hours of gaming (Atomic Heart atm) so I rigged this up. That's the fan from my Xbone 🤣 Figured out which were the power wires and then wired up a male plug end to an old Class 2 variable transformer capable of 2-12v output (which gives me speed control). Wired the female end to the fan and incorporated that possibly older than me switch on the left there. Looks jank asf I know, but it's effective. Cubby stays cool now lol. #DIY

"New" Series X been on for about 7 hours now. Haven't seen anything strange at all. No screen flickers, no sudden shutdowns, nothing. Played The Show '23 for about an hour and yeah I am still used to the Xbone lol. Series is def snappy as fuck. I think I can cautiously say I got a hell of a deal on what seems to be an essentially new system that has a dent in it. Time to catch up on some games I been wanting to play. The "new" Series X showed up just after 1230pm today. Paused the task I was occupied with and opened up the box to check out the console. It was packaged well; good thing cause one corner of the box was crushed in a bit. Brought it inside and hooked it up/powered it on. Synced the controller and updated, logged in. I'm hoping the one I found really is "fully functional" as the seller said. They a decade old acct with 40k sales and a 99% positive rating or I wouldn't have taken the chance on a box with a rather noticeable dent in it, lol. Looks like I'll find out tomorrow. Long as it works, fuck dents. I'll get a new case eventually.

Fucking finally. Been refreshing the FedEx tracking page from time to time the last couple days wondering just where the fuck the Series X I bought off eBay was. They had told me it was going to be here early on Friday. I knew that was bullshit cause there was no arrival scan for here yet. It's been stuck "in transit from CT" since Tuesday.
