Got a WiiU in the closet? Better check on it. What I'm seeing is that the NAND flash chips in the console are pretty low quality. Essentially EVERY WiiU will eventually brick with this error, most likely. Modding/home brew might be able to get around it. Still, looking like emulation will be the easiest way to play games from the console that didn't get Switch remasters.

@Skyye As long as it's in as good a shape as it appears, it should be plug and play. This car so old this ECU just barely qualifies as a "computer". It prob can't even run Doom. And if the car runs but still a little oddly, at least now I'll have a spare in it so it will get partner to work while I send the def bad one off to be remanufactured. I was gonna buy one off RockAuto for 300 but I realized the part number was wrong so I went eBay. Better than aftermarket, those are 1500 lol.

Installed new fuel injectors in our '94 Sentra coupe today. Unfortunately, this didn't fix the issue the car been having lately. So I ordered a used ECU off eBay. Really hope it's in as good a shape as it looks. I know the one in the car is bad cause a mechanic had to run a ground bypass just after we bought the car because a ground wire coming out of the ECU was carrying voltage. So the ECU has been deteriorating, and I think it's finally reached the end. We'll find out Fri.

Been playing House Flipper (Xbone) lately cause it's on Game Pass and I was looking for a decent "podcast game" after PowerWash Sim. Gets the job done, I'm carving into my backlog of In Our Time w/Melvyn Bragg, among other things. I might jump into today.. I did already buy the xpac/seasons so I should prob start getting my $100 worth at some point, lol.

@Skyye I'm unfamiliar with this word "careful", as the ridiculously large amount of scar tissue I have everywhere can attest to.

As a DIY type dude with long fingernails, you'd think by the time I was 47 I would remember to pay attention to those nails when I go to do things like trim the tree branches around the RV. Nope. Tore off my left pinky nail today. About 1/8th of an inch below the quick. Ouch. Makes typing kinda suck, lol. oh well. Gonna trim some more tomorrow. Watching the weather too, starting to hear noise about a possible front moving in mid month that might cause flooding issues.

NORCO ( ) Text based point & click cyberpunk noir set in LA swamps. Kay has to figure out what her Mom was investigating when she died.

This is an odd story, but it's enticing. 8 hours to finish, I'm still pondering what the hell was going on. Pretty good music most of the game. Good writing, including the Cajun accents. Puzzles weren't super difficult, "combat" might be for those without great reflexes (you can set it to auto tho).

I have mixed feelings about a PSVR FPS based in Asimov's Foundation series. Mostly large reservations, honestly.

It's out! @Render64 releases his Substack with heavy coverage of the - Git some.

@kel I wish I had kids to blame, lol. Cats don't quite cut it.

I hate it when I can't find things. I saw that Leiji Matsumoto died which quickly brought to mind the collab he did with Daft Punk, Interstella 5555. I can't find it, and I live in a 28x8 RV. Not a bunch of hiding places. I bought it when it released as in import at a Tower Records/Video since you couldn't just go to a big box store and get stuff like that. I'm a bit perturbed I can't find it now. It very definitely *should* be here. I may have to tear this place apart.

Have a and not a fan of the DualShock 3 esp after using more modern controllers? Here's an option:

Here's Spawn Wave giving it a pretty thorough once over:

I have to agree with him tho, a bigger battery is definitely something that should be implemented. Still, I'm thinking I'll be picking up a couple of these in the future as I do have a fair amount of PS3 games in the backlog.

I gotta seriously consider building a new , or upgrading this poor old bastard as much as I can. Playing and Valdrakken is killing me. Single digit fps at times. 30-ish most other places. Settings at 7. I mean for a PC a decade old that's still pretty good.. but yeah. I can get the best CPU for this thing for 100$, another 500$ or so for other improvements.. got a build list at Parts Picker that's 1600$.. guess I could just start getting a piece every month and build it in a year lol..

@DeadlyAccurate oh. Lol. Yeah I only just got into it a little bit recently myself. Hard to find time around stuff like WoW (540 *days* played) LoTRO (prob 1k hours) Destiny 2 (1500 hours) already, while still playing as much new stuff as I can 😆 .. there's always World of Tanks? 🤪 Iunno, Warface? I mean there's a ton of PvP games out there but not many like Destiny that live for long, esp lately..

@dratino So far I have 53 Steam games on it. plenty of internal space left, it's the top model/I mostly have small indies in my library. I have a 512gb SD card in it now (which means more like 450gb usable) and I've put a few thousand ROMs on it, from Atari to Switch. Have hit a couple roadblocks with newer games not running right. With all the stuff on there I'm having enough fun I haven't felt a need to troubleshoot the issues, yet. Finally catching up on Nintendo games I missed since the Wii.

@dratino Oh noes! Well this won't help: I didn't think I wanted one, so when it showed up for Xmas I was like "oh no, now what do". I have totally changed my mind and am kicking myself for not trying to acquire one sooner. It's a damn good piece of gear. I'm starting to consider getting a dock and setting it up as a second desktop to run or on until I can build a new PC. Granted that's because what I'm typing on RN is over a decade old, but yeah.

Spent a couple hours with Metroid Prime Remastered and damn, this is how you do it. It feels like I'm playing the GC 20 years ago... but for the modern control scheme. I'm fighting muscle memory, lol, but I'm enjoying it. I really like the 3D art gallery, too. It's running well on the with Ryujinx. Some hitches during cinematics and when I'm going through doors. 60fps otherwise.

@DeadlyAccurate oh.. yeah lol. Strikes are all 3 player, there's also 6 player raids but there's not a ton of em.

Perhaps Warframe? Granted, it's a significantly more complex shooter with a lot of depth in its systems and def a slow burn in a lot of aspects, grinding for crafting mats, etc. Def allows 4 player groups tho.
