How does this even happen when the Federal Reserve is trying to sledgehammer the economy with rising interest rates (all to fight inflation, right?). I never believed in this soft landing bunk but Biden has laid out a pillow here.

Only a MAGA nut could lose 14 times in a row and then call his eventual victory by one lousy vote a "mandate" and the "will of the people."
About that disturbance on the House floor last night, buckle up fellow babies, it's gonna be a nasty Congress. And, the metal detectors are gone, so maybe dueling makes a comeback even if governance goes down the toilet.

@Graci IF he gets the nod, he will be facing a Motion to Vacate every time one of the Q's has a bad day, a bad burrito, a bad comment from a news show. He's a goner either way. What a disservice to the nation! There will be no governing from the House until he is not holding a gavel.

We’re pretty safe as long as we don’t leave home…unless the mega storm hits. But so many others are at really high risk. In the Sac Valley there are lots of levy’s, Sac is the #2 most at risk city for floods after New Orleans, many of them were built in the early 1900s by farmers. They’re not great protection so some have been upgraded by the Army Corp of Engineers but not nearly all.
Keeping those at risk foremost in my thoughts & hoping it’s not as bad as it sounds.

So, one tree came down on the driveway but fell into the neighbor's field. The fence is smashed but the driveway is clear. I did clear a medium-small branch. We can get in and out which is good. Later, will check for other downed trees.
