@kel @Alfred

You broke Alfred. 😹

While you wait, ChatGPT v4 says:

β€œIn more casual or colloquial usage, when someone refers to β€œa stick,” they might be picturing something roughly the size of a small branch they could pick up off the groundβ€”potentially anywhere from 30 cm to 2 meters (about 1 to 6.5 feet) long, depending on the situation and what’s available.”

@kel @Alfred

Also, six and a half feet is an unreasonably long β€œstick” in that casual sense of β€œI just picked up a stick and brandished it like a sword.”

@Beanc @Kurtroedeger @kel

That’s relative to the size of the creature wielding it. Human? Probably beyond grasping size with one hand?

@amarand @Beanc @kel

Between stick and log, you also have branch size to account for.

@amarand @Beanc @kel
I'd say branch is the transitional stage between log and stick. A small branch could be a stick, and a large branch could be a log (if fallen on the ground, still a branch if in the air). And there is a stage where a branch is neither a log or a stick but just between the two of them. Primarily, a log would be the trunk of a tree that has fallen or been felled. So you could have a branch that's a branch and bigger than a log that's just a log.

@amarand Professional Kurt is a complete Kurt.*

*I'm not sure if that reads like a huge compliment or a terrible insult. Please assume the former.
