Fallstreak Hole

A fallstreak hole is a large gap, usually circular or elliptical, that can appear in cirrocumulus or altocumulus clouds. Such holes are formed when the water temperature in the clouds is below freezing but the water, in a supercooled state, has not frozen yet due to the lack of ice nucleation.

While driving over a bridge this morning, I had the sunrise ahead of me and the moon in my rear view mirror.

It was beautiful and struck me as a bit profound--reminding me that every day, I am somewhere between a beginning and an ending, and have to keep my attention on the present.
