It was one of more than 20 firearms registered to the elder Crooks, which were kept at the family’s home, according to Pennsylvania State Police records reviewed by investigators, the official said. Reminds me a lot of Oswald's timeline. Bought a rifle, went to the gun club, practiced shooting with the scope.
This shooter, presumably, checked out the site because he knew he needed a ladder to reach the roof. Oswald knew his perch, because he worked there.
I think we'll find their motivations were similar. Both were losers acting out of frustration, wanting attention, not making a political statement. Just my opinion.

(1) Went to the gun range the day before to practice.
(2) Went to Home Depot Saturday morning to buy a five-foot ladder. (To reach the roof.)
(3) Went to the gun store to buy 50 rounds of ammo.
(4) The explosive in the trunk was wired to a transmitter he carried.

General reminder about party convention weeks ... Presidential candidates usually get a temporary bump in the polls in the days following their conventions, because they've been on TV non-stop.
So if #Trump goes up in the polls next week, don't stress about it.
#Biden will get the same bump after the Democratic convention.
Special counsel Jack Smith will appeal today's dismissal of the #Trump classified documents charges by Judge Cannon.

Such an accomplished actor. He did so much physical comedy on "Hill Street Blues." He nailed Captain Styles in "The Search for Spock." Any time he appeared on a screen, I sat up and paid attention.

I've mentioned before that there's a roadside stand near my house that peddles #Trump merchandise. I never see any customers, just the vendor.
Given yesterday's events, I drove past the stand this morning around 11:45 AM or so to see if the attack might have created some customers.
