How does her district losing their voice and that seat remaining open for months help anyone, much less the Justins?
I mean, it's a grand gesture and all but hands the victory entirely to the GOP (they tried to get her to resign to keep her insurance - she's disabled).
@Cosmichomicide they will be replaced by other dems more then likely or simply get re-elected. Also, half the time they arent getting anything done anyway andddddd if their voice mattered to begin with then they wouldn't have had a vote to begin with. Sometimes you have to stand on principle.
In this case, the two Justins will be almost immediately appointed to fill their old positions. Her district not so much and it would likely sit open until an election. Not a slam dunk district.
The Justins are in full support of her not resigning. That's good enough for me. I don't need her to throw herself on a pyre.
@WhiteRose I get you, but Tennessee *needs* her to stay put right now.
@WhiteRose agree, all the Dems should have walked imo
@WhiteRose I thought the same (as a white man). But if Elie Mystal is giving her props as an ally, I reckon it's probably better to have the ally stay.
