With all the gray skies & rain we've had (coastal NC - Wilmington area), I've only seen my spider lady-friend in the gloom.

Thanks. I have to take them from inside the office window. She's too close to the house and facing the wrong way (like all the time) to get any pictures from outside.

My new spider lady friend bagged quite the breakfast. Looks like a male suitor is trying to share the meal. (Look above her.)

I could have used it. 🤣 By the time they lit the cauldron & then the balloon rose (!), and Celine Dion sang so well after all she's been through . . . yeah, I was a mess.

I am officially a puddle now. Amazing opening ceremony.

There's (comparatively) tiny one sitting just above her - got the same markings on the legs. I think maybe that's a male?

That's what one neighbor said, too. That she's a 'writing' spider, complex webs - like Charlotte. I'll need to see 'some pig' written in it to know for sure, though.

I have been assured by my new neighbors that this spider is a good one. Lordy, I hope they're right. It's creeping me out. About 3-4 total width.
