Walz/Hillbilly Vance debate observations:
1. I got the impression that Walz was a bit off-brand. When I say off-brand I am talking about his folksy, down-to-earth way of communicating. Today, he seemed to be following script/canned responses and was not too well prepared for this new way of debating.
2. There were a few bright spots for Walz but overall it could have been better. Still missed Walz bringing snappy responses to put Vance on the spot to fluster him and get defensive.

@Tacitus_Kilgore Hoping he took some pointers from Pete Buttigieg when they practiced together for this debate youtu.be/nwC83w6suFY

I am wondering if Walz will be spending a bit of his time correcting Hillbilly Vance's points rather than making statements about what Kamala and him are bringing to the table. @politcs

@MPCavalier Yup. Both American football and baseball have undergone game changes to appease TV commercialization (less down time) and more action. Today's games are played under completely different rules than yesteryear. I worked Sundays for several decades and missed football. We now have Sunday night, Thursday football and so many different channels/streaming options.

@MPCavalier Have noticed how sports betting has become more intrusive in televised games. See the "win probability" banner? Betting commercials are really pushing apps like it was candy.

Box office receipts vs Oscar nomination/win are somewhat analogous to what makes a movie great--depending on who you ask. Box office receipts is more reflective as to what public opinion is about a "good" movie and everyone wants to see. Oscar nomination/win is more reflective of a small cadre of opinions and leans more towards the artistic side. I sometimes scratch my head wondering why certain movies are nominated let alone win an Oscar.

I was not surprised that the movie "Megalopolis" is a flop at the box office. I get the impression that certain directors no longer have the impact that they did years ago---directors like Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. Is the public tired or no longer wanting to see these movies because of the content or not interested at all? vulture.com/article/megalopoli

@Agatha
3. I know that doctors get frustrated with patients that use the internet to self-diagnose. This is different than using internet to become knowledgeable and then bring this information to ask your doctor questions. Doctors sometimes need to be knocked off their pedestals and bring them down to earth. 3/X

@Agatha
2. I told my wife that majority of medical doctors only have a bachelor's degree and were, in certain instances, no more knowledgeable than her. If they are patronizing/condescending then you should look for another doctor in our HMO.
