One of the greatest tragedies of our education system (and believe me, the competition is fierce) I think is the fact that we train our children to fear failure.

In school, if you fail, that's it. That's the end. You don't get another shot. Real life isn't like that. When you fail at something in real life, you learn from it, dust yourself off, and try again.

Unless it's sky diving or defusing a bomb. Those are things you really want to get right on the first try.

Needing help sparks the desire to help others.
An older friend who also has no family and lives alone, is having a surgery tomorrow. I know she's going to be in a lot of pain and also know how hard it is when pain makes it impossible to even refill your water bottle and you are completely by yourself. She lives close to me, so I am trying to make sure she sends me a message if she needs help and company, and I will Uber or get a ride there in 5 minutes 💜
