@ThrasherPrime So, is a Detroit style pizza basically a Sicilian pizza? And yes, looks scrumptious.
@LiberalLibrarian per the interwebs
Detroit-style pizza is a rectangular pan pizza with a thick, crisp, chewy crust. It is traditionally topped to the edges with Wisconsin brick cheese, which caramelizes against the high-sided heavyweight rectangular pan. Detroit-style pizza was originally baked in rectangular steel trays designed for use as automotive drip pans or to hold small industrial parts in factories. It was developed during the mid-20th century in Detroit, Michigan.
@ThrasherPrime A new place in my town just opened making a legit Detroit style… except they’re using bougie cheese and not Wisconsin brick. 🤷🏼♂️🤣 #CoSoPizza
There's a local place called Thunderbird pies that does Detroit-style pizza. It's SO GOOD.
The thick bready crust, and the crispy sides... Even the bottom is slightly crispy from the oil in the pan.
And it's very filling.
@tyghebright That looks delicious too
@tyghebright but do they make it in parts pans! Lol @ThrasherPrime
