@th3j35t3r I'm shocked. Amazed. Slobberknocked, even.

And this is my surprised face...

@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine Looks like it's a li'l wonky. I had to back out a bit, and come back in. Does this link work for you?

@AkomoCombine The 6 progressives voted against it, because they wanted BBB to pass at the same time. I believe they waited until there were 218 votes in favor before voting "no," though - so they probably had a backroom deal in place where they'd vote "yes" if their votes were absolutely needed.

Wowzers. Did NOT expect 13 GOP members to break ranks and vote for the infrastructure bill. Passed with a vote of 228-206 (several progressives stood firm and voted against it.)

@Museek They recommend 180 days between the second shot and the booster.

Sweet! Got the li'l one scheduled for their first shot tomorrow! I've been holding off on the booster, so I can go in and get it at the same time (and hopefully it helps them see me get it, too). Been 192 days since my second shot, so the timing worked out rather well.

@process Eventually, yes - wife wants to wait awhile longer because of school for our youngest. I figured it's best to start the process now though - even if the short term is nothing more than for vacation & as an escape hatch for the dumpster fire the U.S. is becoming. Plus, work has already said my team will be remote "indefinitely" (and has offices in IE, too). Been taking the occasional look at property in County Galway, especially near Inishbofin.

@process Trying to. Dad's a dual Irish-American citizen from the foreign-born list. Biggest sticking point right now has been trying to find Irish citizens that have known me for long enough to be a reference. Was tryin' to avoid using family members, but looks like that may be the only realistic option.

@process Yikes! The solicitor that's helping me through the naturalization process has his office in Dublin. :(

@Render But that's only if you're in a room by yourself or with other people, right? ;)

Folks... help me... help you. If I get you set up for an interview and something happens (power outage, cable company shut of Internet, whatever), reach out and say something. When the interviewer reaches out, 20 minutes after the start time... you've made my job pretty easy, and go straight into the "not a cultural fit" pile.

Hooray! After a couple of weeks in quarantine, kiddo's are all back at school today. Only 1 tested positive, so the vaccine is doing what it's 'sposed to (thank God). Fun coupla weeks getting our brains tickled every 5 days or so - & prayers up for the girl that passed it to our kid, as they & their family apparently aren't vaccinated (and are all still sick :( ). But big kudos to her for reaching out and texting our kid to let 'em know what was going on, days before the school did.

@praet0rian I'm somewhat of the mind, that McConnell had planned the extension all along. As much of a clone of Emperor Palpatine as he is, dude's a chess player. And the Dem's continued incompetence in strategy and communications won't changed that anytime soon.

Synical boosted

This is somehow one of the most accurate alignment charts I've seen. (And now I want to make corn chowder.)

@catlynne333 While that's good news for those that are ill....

I'm concerned that the covidiots and anti-vaxxer crowd will just use it as another reason to avoid getting vaccinated.
