@BlastBunny It's gonna be hilarious if they try to gaslight us with Mandela comparisons. Trump is more like the next Lyndon LaRouche.

Spring clues: this week, the violets, which we haven't seen since last October, started blooming again.

Spring clues: about a month ago, the narcissus (daffodils) were suddenly everywhere around the neighborhood.

@cassandra17lina The article spends a fair amount of time going over the aftermath of the GOP pushing that bill through in NC. Incredibly (or perhaps not) when given the choice between backing off bigotry when it becomes a political loser or doubling down on it, they usually choose to double down.

"...the anti-trans movement should not be afforded anywhere near this level of deference. This is not a project that has come from the public. It has arisen, in every sense, from the elite level of conservative politics. It also has an extensive electoral track record...an incredibly poor one. From North Carolina in 2016...to the midterm elections in 2022, attempts by Republicans to change the course of any race leveraging anti-trans fear have been met with failure." ettingermentum.substack.com/p/

Can you tell whether each word is the name of an antidepressant drug or a proper name from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien?

There are more lies in one hour of Tucker Carlson’s TV show than there are on the entire extended club mix version of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer”

I listen religiously (lol) to the The History Of Philosophy Without Any Gaps podcast, and I love music, so I was especially excited about today's new episode: an introduction to Afrofuturism featuring brief overviews of Sun Ra and Parliament-Funkadelic, and an exploration of Octavia Butler's science fiction novel Kindred. Next episode will include Bob Marley and Fela Kuti.

@dawnyriver It's perfectly possible for him to have a sex life all by himself (I know, still ick, but fact.)

If someone told you that after investigating for 3 years, they had "low confidence" that a thing happened, why on earth would your takeaway be that it was "likely" that that thing happened? Because your business model has become indistinguishable from that of a supermarket tabloid. We need you to be better than that, WSJ, NYT, CNN, Guardian, etc.

@DallasBarnett I suspect this, while believable, is actually a hoax. The account reporting it refused to provide evidence and blocked users asking for evidence, while other accounts I've seen have the Ukrainian flag in their profile and say they're not getting this message.

@agitated_trash I stayed out of that toxic waste dump, but I can imagine.

A compendium of statements that didn't age well. You might recognize a lot of these people from Fox News, last seen admitting by text that they know full well what they say on the air is false, but say it anyway to maintain and extend GOP power.

He's moving on to a new career: whining that the "woke mob" has "cancelled" him and MAGA Nation should "own the libs" by contributing their life savings to his GoFundMe.

BRUCE WAYNE: Alfred, I have decided to use my vast wealth for good.

ALFRED: Excellent idea, Master Wayne. Let's end police corruption and get Harvey Dent elected.

BRUCE: OR... and I hear what you're saying but... check this out... I CALL IT THE BATBELT!

ALFRED: Oh, fuck me...
