Musk also seems completely oblivious to the fact that social media is fickle and consumers aren't going to stick around like they did with PayPal, Tesla and SpaceX -- all of which enjoyed decades without real competition.

They know that the best way to become rich is to take just a little bit of each transaction and scale it. They've essentially done this with oil for years, profiting off all industry that needs transport. They're planning the same with Musk's finance site and don't care about antisemitism.

Cashless sucks
It’s not in the interests of the ordinary person but it’s not a conspiracy either. A cashless society is a system run amok.
It’s easy to get stuck in a binary of explaining cashless society as either a bottom-up phenomenon demanded by us, or a top-down enclosure pushed by power players. The reality is a more complex mix.
