For the better part of 4 years, I have played, opportune word here is played this game and had much joy with it. With this expansion though, the playing feels a whole lot like working.

MMO's are a time sink, but this feels a whole lot like the playing is meant to be labor. It's time to check out.

So, #FF14 had a crossover event with #FF16 last week (they did the same with ff15, which they just brought that event back about a month or so ago as well) and I now have the theme "Find the Flame" stuck in my damn head.

Because the Torgal mount you earn from completing the event plays it. The music is also a banger.

PvP in #FF14 is hilariously bad. Like, it's not hard, but, all of it, ALL OF IT, is a mess.

There's no fixing this, just go along for the ride, eventually you'll get everything you can purchase, but, just so.

Avid player of #FF14 and been so for years, but my dislike of 99% of FF14 youtube needs to be stated, because hooboy, is it a mess.

Other than, SynodicScribe the rest are neigh on unbearable to sit through.

And I thought WoW's YouTube presence was cringe, that pales compared to the content FF14 creators put out.

The funny thing here is, the people I'm working with currently have retained me in the past and one of them explicitly just asked if I already downed my afternoon americano.

The only thing missing is the dulcet musical tones of me afk in #FF14 in the background (it's the first day back to work. It can wait!)

I am convinced the devs that started #FF14 created the name of the Elezen after someone made fun of Elven.

What I was told by a fellow company member in #FF14

#FF14 truly shines when the story is truly original with smatterings of older game assets thrown in.

This is a feat so unique in MMO's because while every other game in the sector have their own stories, none truly put the player as the focus quite like ff14.

It's a shame then that the post MSQ (Main story questline) has broken both of these tenants. The story is almost a complete retelling of a much older game, and the player character is, well, just there.

It has been disappointing.

#ff14 #ffxiv It's a sad day to realize that one job (Black Mage) is so ungodly unwieldy and unfun (keep drinking the copium of it's the most complex job!) That vast swaths of the playerbase has abandoned it, for Summoner.

That's what happened. The simpler, vastly more mobile and far more flashy Summoners has decimated the portion of the playerbase that might have dabbled in Black Mage, even though it's the weaker job in practice and in potential.

Black Mage isn't complex, it's, just, bad.

As much I love this game and the community is pretty great, there are still sad elitist trolls in the ecosystem that define their self worth, solely from a video game.

I have also lost dozens of lotteries/biddings already so when I tell you to stop bitching to your entire FC, I want you to know who this is coming from.

You're acting like a baby and aren't special. There's plenty of losers today, suck it up and try again.
