Childless dog lady discovers key to a long life.
Sound reasoning to me.
@Alfred Tell us a Halloween Christmas story both heartwarming and frightening.
@GeorgeVotesBlue Infinity. They'd rather believe in evil weather controlling cabals than admit they were wrong.
@LnzyHou @redsheri1 And don't think you are safe from that because it wasn't in your area.
People will buy up flooded cars cheap, then ship them elsewhere to sell at a markup. They fix them up enough to run.
OK, with so much copycat content out there, this was unique.
If LinkedIn was real life.
Why are Red states poorer, sicker, and less educated than Blue states?
This article argues it isn't just a consequence of policy that doesn't work. The policies work as intended, to keep a source of cheap labor for the fat cats.

@Bix Reminds me of the kid at the college watching the debate who said people should have high school civics class to know what a VP can do. (Or even a President with hostile SCOTUS and Congress, for that matter.)
All the blithering about "weaponized Justice department" from people who don't know how Grand Juries work. (And that's just from my extended family. )
Got stunned silence when I told someone "You know they had to present convincing evidence to even indict for those charges, right?"
@Valkaru @ucantstop_me I was told there would be no fact checking!
@misterfive They really do suck, especially when They are Us.
@feloneouscat The U.S. is still a manufacturing powerhouse. Manufacturing jobs are in decline, but that isn't the same as output. Manufacturing is also in decline as a percentage of U.S. GDP.
However, the U.S. is second only to China is percentage of global manufacturing output. U.S. output is greater than Japan, Korea, and Germany combined.
It may be a moot point from the perspective of manufacturing jobs, but the common perception we aren't producing anymore isn't right.
@WarrantCanary Status
@Lulz4l1f3 That's by design, if people are too tired from doing things to pay attention to politics, and are not able to vote... then it benefits those who need fewer votes to get into office... sort of a manufactured minority rule...
@carmen Damn! Damn! Damn!

@GaryPoole Nothing too weird. Frog legs or escargot probably. Both were good, escargot too chewy for my taste.
Lobster and shrimp are pretty weird looking; we are just used to them. (And crab for that matter.)
Everything is weird to somebody in the world.
@Sr0bi @Bix What does that look like? We have a large fixed pane in the middle with sliding windows on either side. I don't think they open wide enough for a even as small standard window unit. But the windows are over five feet high as well. So there would be a large opening to fill somehow, too.
Damned open floor plan limits my options for other rooms.
