So many questions re: Tucker and Fox. Was he ousted because he was so central in costing them almost a billion $? If so, what about Pirro, Bartiromo, Watters, Hannity, etc. who were just as culpable? Someone at Fox told the WPost that it was partly because the discovery documents exposed his contempt for Fox management. But do they really care about his loyalty if he makes them $$$ and stirs up the base?
Lot of questions to be answered.
The sole known recording of Harpo Marx speaking:
Gee, the public is even more sour than before on the R House, sees it as interested only in power and stunts, hates its policy priorities, and would blame it for dysfunction.
Pity that didn't stop it winning in the first place (Rs did narrowly win the House popular vote... it wasn't just gerrymandering; though they won by much less than normal in a midterm). But Rs better watch their political backsides.
Some positive news about a brilliant child and people being kind.
Incredibly, #TFG is actually howling about Biden's classified documents (and making yet another racist attack on Elaine Chao, screaming that Biden sold documents to China via her).
He actually thinks classified docs is a good issue for him.
So does Kevin McCarthy, who vowed "investigations" while dismissing Trump's mass theft with "how could he know what was in the boxes"?
And sure enough, their absurd lies are forcing the media to do more fact checks on how much worse Trump's case is.
There is never any bottom for the orange stain, #TFG.

My god. Blake Hounshell of the NYT has died suddenly.
Biden did not intentionally take documents.
He did not lie about them.
He did not hide them from investigators.
He did not refuse to return them.
He is not in court trying to get them back.
He is not suspected of selling them.
The discovery of the documents was reported immediately
The documents were returned to the archive immediately
The Biden Admin and the law firm where they were found have been cooperating with the Archives fully and without conditions
@Helical_Code I think it's extremely unlikely there will be a default... though there will be high drama and stupid R brinksmanship about it, as always.
But there are clear majorities in both houses that don't want a default. That was why Fitzpatrick, who voted for Kevin, also *publicly* warned him about discharge petitions to bypass him and the MAGAs, if necessary. I think he chiefly had default and Ukraine aid in mind when he said that.
Of course Kevin, who spent the past week telling the MAGAs that the rules package will guarantee them total control over the universe forever, spent the weekend and today assuring the "moderates" that it doesn't really mean anything and is just business as usual.
The crisis is unavoidable. They're just delaying it.
Center-left academic type. Generally pissed about the state of the world but I know none of our endless crises are actually new because I'm a historian.
