Is powdered milk even made anymore? I hated the flavor, but it would be fine for baking, and a good source of nutrition.
@BlueStateBabe It is however it's difficult to use for some recipes given it's lack of fat content.
Ah - I only use fat free milk in real life. Hadn't considered the impact on baking.
@BlueStateBabe I had some trouble using powdered milk for gravies, puddings and sauces unfortunately, it doesn't blend very well even over heat. x.x
Good to know. On the other hand great to have if refrigeration is not available.
*Rice/Pasta
*Fruit (Mixed or plain, low/no syrup is definitely a needed item)
*Crackers
*Dried food goods
*Packaged dried meals
*Packaged granola bars
*Instant Mashed Potatoes
*Nuts
*Dried fruit
Some foodbanks also accept blankets, winter clothing items, and books (Childrens and adult activity books and coloring books are always highly appreciated and disappear quickly in the system.)
