@BillieBun It's a rice noodle soup. It's actually really good. It's one of the name brands from Korea. I was introduced to it by one of my ex's and have been addicted to it ever since.
@BillieBun It's right up there in the spice scales. If you like hot foods. This is the hot food to go for. The black label of the brand is actually one of the best ones.
@PaganMother Ouch.....
for a different take, do the noodles apart, and warm up milk with half the packet of spice
then bring both together for quite a creamy experience with noodles.
surprisingly good for keeping warm
@elmaxx I'm unable to consume most milk products but I might give that a try sometime with an non lactose variant
Ah! I forgot, however, there's a ton of non dairy options to mix and match shin ramyun
@elmaxx Yeah I do a lot of cooking actually with my shim, Sometimes I prepare it with fresh vegetables like mushrooms and greens and other times I end up adding non lactose cheese and a little soy sauce.
@elmaxx It's my comfort food for when I'm sick though and I've been struggling with a cold for the last couple days. Had an RSV earlier last month and this thing just keeps dragging out.
@elmaxx I'm really glad that my ex introduced me to some Korean foods when I was still with him. My favorite dishes is shim & gimbap.
keep hydrated, rest it out, I hope you feel better soon
@elmaxx I will my friend. I will. I slept most of the day heavily medicated.
22 loves Shin ramen, but doesn't eat it much these days. I hit my illness prevention go-to a few hours ago: a Nissan beef ramen bowl with a generous spoonful of Lao Gan Ma, and a diced protein when handy. Works like a charm.
@fugitive247 That sounds so good, I have to be careful about how much beef I take in cause of my cholesterol but I do so love a good noodle bowl anyday.
These bowls don't contain much meat at all - maybe a tablespoon of pea-sized nibbles. It's more about the flavor, which is decent. The dietary factor that really matters to me is the carb count (15g = 1 serving, per diabetic guidelines). Average ramen bowl equals two servings. When I'm feeling icky and otherwise not inclined to eat, a ramen bowl acts as a delivery system for the Lao Gan Ma, which clears up congestion, etc. in short order.
@PaganMother Right there with you! My post-op nose feels like I have a heavy cold and some Shin Ramyun would really hit the spot right now.
@stueytheround Oo heal swiftly, I usually turn to Shin when cold season kicks up, so I try to pick up a box once every few months.
@PaganMother Some kind of soup? Rice?
