@NorCalCherylLyn I have been to Valletta and have fond memories of the 3 visits that the Royal Navy funded.
A friend of ours went to the Isle of Gozo, which is close to Malta (think different state, same federal government)
@Mauve_matelot used to know a gal whose parents were born in Malta. She loved her visits there so much I think she moved a few years ago.
We had a trip to Portugal to explore retirement options in early 2020. Covid ended that dream.
I wouldn't recommend Ireland, though. The Atlantic conveyor is in great peril, and will severely affect the entire UK.
