I should put some sort of block on CoSo so I cannot post here until I have had at least one cup of coffee.

Or, J needs to give us the ability to edit our posts. I am a typo queen before coffee (and I still manage to make some typos after coffee).

On NATO...

The Democratic-led House on Jan. 22 voted 357-22 for a bipartisan bill that would tie Mr. Trump’s hands by refusing him any federal money to pay the costs of leaving the alliance.

The Republican-led Senate should quickly follow, either approving the House measure or a separate bill proposed by a bipartisan group of senators that requires Mr. Trump to obtain approval from two-thirds of the Senate to “suspend, terminate or withdraw U.S. membership in NATO.”

Ugh. Typos. I simply should not try to post anything until I have had some coffee. Thumb typing without coffee is dangerous.

Well, the was refreshing to read this morning!

Nancy Pelosi says the State of the Union address will NOT happen on Tuesday.

That’s good. 45* temporarily reopened government so that he could get the SOTU on prime time TV. By withholding that plum, Pelosi has leverage. She know how to manipulate a malignant narcissist.

Sourdough bread. Mmmmmmm.

Started the bread dough yesterday and let it ferment over night. Put it in my little Dutch oven to rise. Preheating the oven now. Can’t wait for dinner. We’ll have it warm with butter and homemade apple butter. Oh yeah, and crockpot chicken and such too. 😸 I could make a meal of the sourdough bread, but I will behave and serve other things as well.

It was warmer today when I went out to feed critters - about 1*F and only a breeze. There was a light snow over night and it looked like rabbits had a party - there were tracks everywhere. All the dogs were inside last night and the bunnies partied. 🐰

Warm is relative, isn’t it? Yesterday the windchill was about -25*F. 🌬

Now I am warming up with coffee. Mmmmm. Had one of those perfect, happy moments. ☕️

PS. My SIL works for a government contractor. One of my dearest friends from childhood works for the Federal government. These are real people. People with families, kids in college, kids at home, mortgages, bills, etc. They are not millionaires, not even faux billionaires. They don't have easy access to Russian "credit."

This 💩 is bankrupting our nation in an effort to shut down the FBI and Federal Court system so that he can't be investigated and indicted.

I am especially thankful to the Cult for giving us such a Man of the People, a guy who will stand up for and protect the ordinary working stiff. A guy who gets it, who speaks to the working class

😸

I learned yesterday that grocery stores will give out free food on an IOU. I am headed to the store, so I think I'll give that a try.

Oh, I need to be sure I have my ID handy too, as I learned last year that I need ID to buy groceries!

Thank you for allowing us to learn so many alternative facts.

@Stonekettle
Bravo!

A society that starts building walls out of fear will one day end by building its own prison.

Well said, all of it.

Billionaire Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross tells furloughed workers they should be able to get a loan from a bank. Except that one needs verifiable income to get a loan, one needs to be able to make the payments, one shouldn't have to carry additional debt with interest because their employer refuses to pay them, and one who has govt clearance can actually lose said clearance, and thus their job, if they accrue too much debt.

Fuckin' vile cluelessness.

NPR host stuns White House flack with shutdown question: ‘Is the wall worth people getting killed’ in plane crash?
White House spokesperson Mercedes Schlapp seemed to be caught off guard on Thursday when she was asked if Americans potentially dying in a plane crash due to the government shutdown was worth the effort to fund President Donald Trump’s border wall.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall... think of it, always.
