I just want to know why the fuck we aren't giving our disabled and elderly folks free healthcare. If you're married and disabled and your spouse makes "too much money" to qualify for benefits then everyone suffers in that family because the "too much money" isn't actually enough to cover medical costs and living expense.
I don't come here to drag you down or weigh your brain with heavy thoughts. I just like to see what others have to say about my thoughts. =)

If you look at indeed.com, most random jobs pay terribly, 10, 12 an hour. Minimum wage hasn't changed since 2009. That hourly is $7 and change.

@MrGoat my late housemate had debilitating heart issues (which he died from). but because i didn't charge him rent, & he was a single male, he got a whopping 45/month for food. try eating a heart healthy diet on 45/month...

@redenigma should've got a fake lease made up and said he paid x for rent and he woulda got benefits and they wouldnt question you. yes i know it's fraud.
@MrGoat I don't know if you've ever had children that attended college, but doing the FAFSA application every year showed me how ridiculous the rules are to qualify for any aid whatsoever. We tried to do it 'right' by setting up 529s for them when they were small. Turns out if we had taken trips and spent freely instead of saving anything, we'd have qualified, but we got bupkis instead.
@MrGoat This rule actually played a part in ending one of my relationships because she wanted to get married and just couldn't seem to understand that doing so would actually fuck us hard enough to not be able to live like we were living at the time.
TBF, there were other reasons. But this was a big sticking point with her.

It's sad and heartbreaking to see families struggle just because the overbearing entity thinks you make too much money to receive help.
For Example: You make 2900 a month and your rent is X and you have a couple children and single. You might get like 50 dollars in food stamps.
This system is wild and I think something recently may have changed but it's far worse now than it was.
