My momma sent me 2 dozen roses. A thank you for helping her with the camping adventure last week. 💖

Republicans in Texas didn’t even want to feed children in this state. Their excuse? “Fear of Big Government” — literally ONE THIRD of Texas’ budget of Federal dollars!

@MotherDucker You should never click unsub (as you've realized) because it just confirms your email is active and they add your name to the list. Just put them in the spam folder and they should auto go there. For texts, just block that number. It's still a pain.
Like, maybe if ya’ll reined in the criminally greedy utility companies, I’d have spare funds to kick your way.
I faithfully click unsubscribe on each of the 12 daily “can I count on your vote/donation/support?” emails.
The next day I get 17.
Wake up to use the bathroom.
Go back to bed.
Lay down in the sweet spot with just enough blanket and just enough fan on my skin.
Tiny sad voice calls, “mommy I need you.”
Roll out of bed, and slide into bed with little one. Lay there until nightmare has slipped away and she is breathing softly and evenly.
Creep back to my bed. Eyes on the verge of closing.

#FUNFACT - If we had Universal Healthcare, sick & injured folks or their family members wouldn't be so reluctant to seek medical assistance or preventative care or wait until it the situation became dire for fear of the bill.
This includes Mental Health services.
Extrapolate that up. And consider that US has the MOST active/school shooter events among ALL other developed nations by far.
And ALL THE OTHERS have healthcare. Yet in all those places not a single soul has died of 'socialism'

For an x-ray; a CT scan, a PET scan, a lung biopsy, hospital inpatient and outpatient services; surgeon, radiologists, pulmonologist consultations, oncologist consultations & PCP office visits, the billing to insurance co is $84,479.89
That does not include services June 15 to date for:
A pulmonary function test, a brain MRI and consultation with a surgeon. And, chemo & services haven't started yet. Don't get cancer.

@CherNohio @th3j35t3r Good god, this is insanity. We don't have national healthcare here because lobbyists for the insurance companies make sure we think it will be awful - while never addressing how awful it actually is the way we have it.
Whenever I worry that someone will judge me for what I read; how long or short it is; if there’s dragons, castles, spaceships, prairie folk, a cheese wheel, or rock-hard abs on the cover; if I am reading an ereader instead of a #book; if I’m reading something YA or high-minded; if I make faces while I’m reading; if I am prodigious at reading but can’t summarize concisely to save my life—I stop and remind myself that there are millions of people who are fully capable of #reading, & choose not to.
