My brilliant, soon to be 7-year-old finished her first whole chapter book today. 117 pages read entirely by her with only minor pronunciation assistance. She never let me read so much as a sentence to her because she knew she could do it. 🤩

First grader playground reports are harrowing:
“Mom, I scraped Charlie’s eye today. There was blood.”
“What?!”
“Charlie tackled Liam because Liam pounded on me.”
Wait what?!
“Then Liam tattletaled on Charlie for tackling him.”
“Let’s go back to the eye blood…”
“I scraped him by accident when he tackled Liam to stop him pounding on me.”
“Why was Liam pounding on you?!”
“Because he is Felix’s best friend.”
“I thought you and Felix were friends?”
“We are. Liam was jealous.”
Yeesh.

My husband trimmed the front hedges the other day because they were as high as the eaves. He thinned them out a little more than I wanted but I think he’s just saving himself some agony next summer.

Yesterday we put out our fall/H’ween scarecrows. And now every time I walk by the couch I think people are lurking in my yard. The birds, however? Still residing, non-plussed, on the eaves and in the hedges.

Scare crow? No. Scare me? Every bleeping time.

I worked out this morning. Did 36 minutes on my stationary recumbent bike.

Totally not a big deal. People do it every day for longer and in more impressive ways.

But big deal for me with the chronic pain. I feel better than I thought I would and I am hoping to turn it to habit.

So we are all about packing kiddo sustainable, waste-free lunches when she doesn’t like or want what the school is serving… but damn does it get heavy. Luckily she doesn’t have to lug a laptop to and fro yet. That’s next year.

Until then, clean lunch weight training!

I’m not going to lie… I feel like the world of upside down and worst case scenarios has made me a #conspiracy theorist. These “assassination attempts” are just too convenient. Hey if the damn radiologist can believe the moon landing was fake and the mail carrier can believe that Covid vaccines are microchipping us, I can believe these are staged…. Right? 😬

What a difference some restful, non-tormented sleep makes. 🙌🏻 I am not feeing 100% but 85% is feeling really freaking great this morning. I can turn my neck a little more than I could yesterday with a little less pain. Alas, I have to get to work and I’m hoping work doesn’t undo this. 🤞🏻
