🫠 I know I’ve been crafting, reading and other heavy handed things in excess the last few days to avoid the play by play of the mess we’re living in. So while my mental health is less fraught, opening bottles and jars is excruciating. 😣

So I’ve been saving money for my migraine thingy and my husband was like, why don’t you see if it’s marked down on Amazon (prime day.) The thing is, they don’t actually sell it on Amazon.

But I get to the manufacturer’s website and sure enough it said it was 20% off specifically for prime day…

But they don’t sell it on Amazon.

I’m confused.

Tomorrow’s projecting a high of 73 degrees F. I might need a sweater or something. Slippers even. That’s a dang cold snap. 🫰

Kiddo overcame some huge hurdles (sensory and anxiety-related) at her swim school today and it felt really freaking good for all of us. So grateful for the confidence and pride she felt today.

A difficult decision:

I think I’ve figured it out: that feeling of unease I have felt all day. As we are approaching the election & the news cycle is non-stop, and the more my fertility treatments aren’t working—delaying potential pregnancy. I’m just starting to feel really really apprehensive about the whole potential hypothetical probably-not-going-to-happen-so-why-am-I-like-this pregnancy. And this horrible thought: I do actually get pregnant and complications kill me, because GOP.

I am riddled with a sense of anxiety today that I can’t pinpoint to a single or even multiple causes. Just this unsettling feeling I can’t shake. 🫨

So can you even digest dairy anymore?

Well daaaaaamn. I had put off reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros because of all the hype which I feared, at the time, to be overblown.

What a ride! Downloaded book 2 to the kindle and shall stay up far too late (on a work night) reading it like a proper book dragon. 📖🐉

Made spaghetti tonight because it was the only unanimous choice (I don’t love spaghetti but I am a pick your battles kinda mom.) So midway through dinner, kiddo asks for some milk. I get up to get it. Two minutes later she says, “I am SO FULL. Can I be done?” I look in her bowl to see mostly spaghetti left. I look down in my bowl. Kid ate all her meatballs and all of mine while I was getting milk. Yeah. She can be done. 😳

Therapeutic sticker making

I tried so hard to stay offline & unplugged from the Trump noise today. Alas, I was sent to work in the Coronary Care ICU & it seemed like all 8 patients were tuned into Fox News. And if that wasn’t bad enough, everyone was talking about it.

It took some time but I focused hard on my sexy dragon rider book on my kindle & got through my 8 hrs. Gonna chill with my fam now. Maybe play Hello Kitty Happiness Parade with the 6yo on Nintendo Switch and get back to my 🐉 book as soon as she’s asleep.

Everyone knows that person who talks like they are convinced everyone is hanging on their every word and is oblivious to the fact that no one really wants to hear it.
