π Come on down, most of us are nice people. Don't let the Repugs brainwash ya!
@process I can go one better. I wanted a walkman so bad - but not just any walkman, one you could record with too. Eventually I got one for my birthday. Along with the 'Jewel of the Nile' OST. (I was into Billy Ocean, okaaay).
BUT, I didn't want it for music. Oh no sir! I had this book about space, and it had a transcript of the moon landing convo between mission control & the astronauts.
So I recorded myself doing the mission control side, leaving gaps so I could pretend I was an astronaut.
Today's #BigBand #Standard song is Gene Kelley's song (and dance) Singin' in the rain (because today's weather) from 1952. Fun to note that Debbie Reynolds had never danced before this movie!
Enjoy a little singing in the rain if you, too, forgot your umbrella (who, me?).

Good morning CoSo family!
It's one of those spring-like days where I hyperventilate from trying to breathe in the freshness of the outdoors.
A day so pleasant, that with my coffee in hand, and a daydream in my head, I believe that no matter what crap I may have to deal with, I will get through it.
And there will be a happily ever after.
Okay, that's enough sappiness for now.

The globe. If you watched Oppenheimer and paid attention, you saw the big globe in President Harry Truman's office at Blair House.
There really was one.
Might have to read this one.

Geez Louise.
It's a focused internship. The Smithsonian has many internship programs that give a variety of museum experiences.
Quit tying up their people and funds with frivolous law suits.

Morning @yogapaddlerun
What's on tap for you today?
@janallmac
Sorry you are feeling poorly. Maybe sitting in tge warm sun will help.
Good morning, @Minholkin. Love today's photo. There was a Spanish prof at UVA who used to teach "Don Quicksoat."
Still makes me chuckle thinking of it.
Morning, @Mandypar! A warm start to the day here; gonna need my bumbershoot.
Good morning!
Cloudy and 36 F, with a high 20 degrees warmer and rain beginning about lunchtime. Thunderstorms (in February!) on tap for tomorrow.
In the last 2 winters, we have had 4" of snow. The normal is 40 to 50", so I guess that average will be changing as our winters warm.
The Carolina wren is happily singing in my rhododendron. He may be telling me the small bird feeder is empty.
That's the weather from the ancient Blue Ridge of VA. Go forth and add kindness to the day.

Nowhere in any library school text did I ever read, "You may be warned with arrest and jail time, bullied and threatened with violence, physically attacked, and harassed, just for doing your job."
Those endorsing censorship should be scared, because librarians are tough protectors of freedom.
