@Madken65
I wish I knew my dad's. He never talked about it and his records were destroyed in the NPRC fire.
You are lucky to have this information.

Every few years I send a request and have periodically gotten a few more pages. Recovery is ongoing.

@b4cks4w @MelissaHDavis @Madken65 I’ve been trying for two years to get hubby’s service records and his medals…big fat nothing so far. Only a response that they got my request. 😞

Having worked around many great DoD civilians, it does take time and you would not believe the multitudinous nature of the requests.
If they've confirmed your request, they ARE working on it.
@Madken65 @b4cks4w @MelissaHDavis I hope so. We need the whole record and I’d love to have his awards. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

My dad's were confirmed destroyed. His unit records are no help, either -- they were apparently an independent truck co, attached to whatever unit was moving forward. I found out from the Army green book on D-Day the company was on the beach that morning. That was a revelation to our family.

And so perhaps I will try again.
